1. Introduction

Kitchen Studio ("we", "our", or "the app") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our mobile application, how we use it, and how we protect it.

By using our application, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Personalized recipe suggestions: "What to cook today?" on the home screen, "For you" in Explore, AI Chef and weekly reminders are ranked for you using the recipes you liked, cooked and rated, your own recipes, the items in your kitchen, what you bought on your shopping lists, your diet / allergy preferences and your household size. This happens on our servers using only your data in the app; it is not compared with other users, not used for advertising and not shared with third parties. Only a short summary (e.g. cuisines you like, items you often buy, household size) is sent to AI Chef (Google Gemini); your name and email address are not sent. You can see why a recipe was suggested, hide a recipe with "Don't suggest this" and turn personalization off at any time in Profile → Personalized suggestions; when it is off, everyone sees the same general suggestions.

3.4 Communication

  • Push notifications (recipe updates, family group activities)
  • Account and security emails (email confirmation, sign-in and password reset codes)
  • Reminder emails about your account (e.g. items still on your shopping list, getting-started tips). We send at most one per week; you can turn them off at any time via the link in each email or the email preferences page. We do not track email opens.
  • Marketing or promotional emails are sent only with your explicit consent
  • Support responses

3.5 Automated and Manual Processing of User-Generated Content

When you upload User-Generated Content (such as recipes, texts, and photographs) to the Platform, we store this information securely in our systems. Please be aware that to maintain a safe platform, prevent fraudulent activity, and protect against copyright infringement (such as stolen images) or illegal content, we reserve the right to monitor, review, and analyze your uploaded content. We may use manual review processes as well as automated scanning systems (including AI-based content/image analysis) to ensure compliance with our Terms of Service. Data generated from such moderation activities may be used to suspend violating accounts and, if legally required, your account details and IP address may be shared with law enforcement agencies or verified copyright holders during a formal legal dispute or investigation.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • Supabase security: Database-level security and access controls
  • Password security: Passwords are protected with secure hash algorithms
  • Access control: Limited personnel access

6. Data Retention

  • Active accounts: Data is retained as long as the account is active
  • Deleted accounts: Data is removed within 30 days
  • Backup retention: Backups are kept for 90 days

8. Children's Privacy

Our app is rated 4+. Parental consent is recommended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. Cookies and Tracking

Our app uses:

You can manage notifications and data sharing from app settings.

10. International Data Transfers

Your data is stored on Supabase servers and may be processed in different regions. All data transfers are conducted with appropriate security measures and legal requirements.
